Operations this weekend are taking place thanks to this impressive vertical.
A friend of mine (thanks Steve!) has loaned me a 10M aluminium mast. I intended to set up another inverted V with it but thought I would give a vertical a go.
Fully extended to 10M with a 4M fibre glass “roach pole” on top (with 4M of 2.5mm wire attached) give a working height of 14M. It is sitting on a 3M x 2M sheet of galvanised fencing that has 2 x 40′ ground radials attached.
The SGC ATU is attached to the vertical and the ground radials. It tunes up well on all the bands and is giving great results on 17M today with contacts into Russia and the Ukraine on PSK31 with 10W of power.
